Cadastral II explores the relationship between environmental material, photographic processes and technological systems. Material gathered through encounters with the coastal environment becomes fragmented and displaced through the photographic process, with instability retained as part of the resulting image.
Rather than resolving these disruptions, Nishioka allows them to remain visible within the work, bringing environmental matter and technological behaviour together within the process of image formation.
