Cadastral I_056 is a video work developed within Maritime_Trace_Exposure / cross-currents, a collaborative project by the research group An Architecture of the Sea. The project explored different ways of visualising the marine environment through photography, poetry and virtual space.
Working with ideas of maritime surveying and sampling, Cadastral I_056 considers how marine environments are encountered through systems of observation, measurement and technological representation. The work forms part of a broader enquiry into the difference between everyday maritime space and the versions of that space constructed through simulation, imagining and technologies.
